Nature Walk: Spring Color

Posted on May 26, 2014 at 10:00 AM by Taylor Eisenhauer

Spring Color

One of the joys of spring are the bright vivid colors of song birds and emerging wildflowers. Here we see the soft yellows of the American goldfinch and the blues of Virginia bluebells, both signs of spring and new life in the growing season. Bluebells will at best only last for a couple of weeks, while the goldfinch seems to be ahead of its game as it will not begin nesting until early August. Nature is full of mystery and surprises; we need only to keep our eyes open.
