Nature Walk: Butterfly Pollinators

Posted on July 7, 2014 at 10:00 AM by Taylor Eisenhauer

Butterfly Pollinators

“Butterflies are important pollinators of many flowers. They appear to respond to changing weather conditions and thus vary in abundance from one year to the next. The Common Sulphur and the Red Admiral are two relatively abundant species that occur from late spring though summer into fall and often visit flowers such as pale purple coneflowers, white indigo and butterfly milkweed in the tallgrass prairie.” -Carl Kurtz
