Nature Walk: Eastern Wood Pewees

“Eastern Wood Pewees are flycatchers about the size of a sparrow. I have often watched them sit low in a small tree just outside my machine shed's open door waiting for any disturbance that flushes a flying insect. They will follow mowing equipment or other farm implements that might flush moths or other insects. They can be very tame, and not only come close to you, but even sit on your hat, your shoulder or your foot in expectation of their next opportunity for a meal.” -Carl Kurtz
