Iowa Paddle & Pedal Expo

CanoeSport Outfitters will host the 19th annual Iowa Paddle & Pedal Expo in Indianola on Friday, Feb. 6 through Sunday, Feb. 8. The expo focuses on canoeing, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding and bicycling. There is a $5 admission fee, which provides access to presentations at the retail store and slide shows at the nearby Legion Hall the whole weekend. All proceeds will be donated to INHF.

Presentations will cover topics including local destinations, how-to skills, gear selection, trip-planning and risk management. Manufacturer representatives from various companies will be available, and CanoeSport Outfitters will have a wide selection of paddling, cycling and camping equipment on sale.

On Sunday morning, the local YMCA will co-host a skills session at their pool. Kayak rescue skills, stand-up paddle boarding, kayak rolling and basic strokes, among others, will be demonstrated on the water. Access to this session, other YMCA sessions, small group presentations and all other clinics is free of charge.
