FEATURED PROJECT

Raccoon River Valley Trail

The Raccoon River Valley Trail (RRVT), one of Iowa’s longest, runs for 89 miles through 15 towns and four counties (Greene, Dallas, Guthrie, Polk) and is popular for its 70 mile loop. The first section of the trail opened in 1989; the most recent addition (the North Loop) was completed and opened in 2013. The RRVT is one of Central Iowa’s most popular trails and is a staple to the businesses and communities along the trail. Trail users experience prairie remnants, birding, Lake Panorama and the North Raccoon River, among other natural highlights, along the trail.
