INHF Board Spotlight

This blog series highlights and acknowledges our dedicated board members. Lending their time and talents on a volunteer basis for the protection of Iowa’s land, water and wildlife, INHF’s 33-person board is an incredible show of dedication and expertise. INHF board members come from every region of the state, connecting our work with communities, landowners and organizations that help to make more conservation happen. See a full list of board members here and learn more about John Gray below!

John Gray

John GrayGrowing up in Rockwell City, John Gray and his family spent time at the nearby Twin Lakes situated in northern Calhoun County. The family cottage on the relatively quiet, shallow lake nurtured a love for wildlife and remains his favorite outdoor spot.

Making a career as a lawyer, Gray’s interest in nature led him to join INHF’s board in 2009. He’s shared his skills through serving on the public policy and other board committees.

Now living in Sioux City, the additions to nearby Stone State Park are among Gray’s favorite INHF projects. “I have spent many hours hiking, cycling and snowshoeing in this park,” Gray said. He’s also proud of the many other protection projects INHF has completed throughout the Loess Hills.
