INHF is pleased to have Jessica Paul join the central Iowa stewardship crew to help boost restoration efforts as we move into fall.
Jessica hails from Boone, Iowa, and comes to INHF with an Associates of Science from DMACC. She is no stranger to land stewardship, having served as a Green Iowa AmeriCorps member with Polk County Conservation doing land stewardship for the last two years. Jessica will continue her education at Oregon State this spring where she plans to study ecological restoration.
“I am really excited to grow my stewardship skills and help protect our native Iowa ecosystems,” Jessica says of her new role with INHF.
The bulk of Jessica’s time will be spent in the field — harvesting prairie seeds, preparing for prescribed burns and other fall habitat restoration projects — but you may catch her at an upcoming volunteer event. Be sure to give her a warm welcome (and ask her what her favorite Iowa plant is)!
