Ribbon Cutting at Little Sioux Scout Ranch

Join Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation (INHF) and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to celebrate the latest addition to the Loess Hills State Forest, the Little Sioux Scout Ranch, during a public ribbon cutting! INHF and DNR staff will be present to answer questions and give brief remarks about the project. 

Schedule:

• 2-2:30 - Social hour

• 2:30-3 - Speaking program featuring:

  • Chris Mehaffey - CEO, Mid-America Council, Scouting America

  • Joe McGovern - President, Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation

  • Kayla Lyon - Director, Iowa Department of Natural Resources

• 3-4 - Optional guided hikes

Details: 

• Light snacks and drinks will be provided

• Attendees are encouraged to dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes or boots if they intend to hike

• There will be a large shade tent on site. Please bring a camping chair if you wish to sit

• There will be portable restrooms on site

• There will be a limited number of UTVs available for people with limited mobility that wish to see more of the property
