Spring Branch Creek Open House
August 14, 2026, 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM (US Central)
Stop by anytime during this open house for a behind-the-scenes view of a natural area in need of protection.
Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation is fundraising to protect approximately 192 acres along the Spring Branch Creek coldwater trout stream near Manchester in Delaware County. The property lies adjacent to the Manchester Fish Hatchery, from which all stockable Iowa trout originate.
Protection of the upland and floodplain will help improve the quality of water flowing through the hatchery and maintain existing fishing access on the ¾ mile stretch that flows through the property.
If fundraising is successful, the Spring Branch Creek Project will be open to the public for hiking, fishing, hunting and other recreation opportunities. Learn more about the project at inhf.org/spring-branch-creek
