Two temporary positions — one based in Pisgah and the other in Elkhart — will provide extra help during the land stewardship team's busiest season.
Jessica Paul, who we first introduced last September, is continuing on in her role as Central Iowa Field Assistant.
Her counterpart in the Loess Hills, Hannah Hageman, is also a familiar face.
Hannah Hageman holds a bachelor’s degree in Forestry with an emphasis on natural resource conservation and restoration from ISU. As an undergrad, Hannah participated in the Forestry Club and earned her spot in Xi Sigma Pi, a national honors society for forestry. Hannah also worked summers with the Iowa Department of Natural Resources, Woodbury County Conservation, and with INHF. Most recently, Hannah served as the urban forestry intern in Sioux Falls.
As an alumna of INHF’s 2024 land stewardship intern crew, Hannah felt drawn back to INHF and the Loess Hills.
“I am excited to see and work in the Loess Hills for a longer period of time to see the plant life change through the seasons. It’s been a couple years since I was with INHF so I am ecstatic to see the properties again after more management and time.”
When Hannah isn’t in nature doing what she does best, she enjoys creative pursuits like painting, jewelry making and linocut stamp making.
Both Jessica and Hannah will assist with land stewardship tasks, help supervise the land stewardship intern crews and assist at volunteer and community events.
