National Trails Day 2021 (Des Moines) - FULL

Join Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation. Polk County Conservation and Polk Soil & Water Conservation District to celebrate National Trails Day! We will be working to build and cut trails at Easter Lake. A bag lunch will be provided. 

After our trail work, volunteers are invited to gather at 515 Brewing to enjoy a free beverage on the brewery. Volunteers are welcome to make a weekend of it with a free evening of camping at Yellow Banks Park compliments of Polk County Conservation (Please indicate your interest in camping when registering). Volunteers will be entered into a raffle for prizes and gear.

Please note: An RSVP is required (EVENT IS FULL). Space is limited. Registration deadline is June 2.

Plan to arrive between 12 and 12:45 p.m. to get signed in, gear up, eat lunch and attend a brief safety meeting. Trail work will begin at 1:00 p.m. and go until 4 p.m. Rain date: June 6.

No experience necessary. All the equipment you'll need is provided. Families welcome.

What to bring:
  • Water bottle
  • Sturdy boots or shoes that can get muddy
  • Hat, work gloves, sunscreen, mask
  • All other equipment provided
