Ways to Give

Whether you’re a cyclist, paddler, farmer or outdoor enthusiast, we know you care about Iowa as much as we do.

Together, help make a lasting impact to protect important Iowa places, speak and act on behalf of nature and pass forward a healthy, beautiful Iowa for future generations.

With a donation to INHF, you can:

  • Create new wildlife areas, trails, parks and natural spaces
  • Build and restore habitat for migratory birds and other animals
  • Foster the next generation of conservation professionals through INHF’s internship program
  • Clean Iowa’s waterways through watershed protection

INHF’s work depends on private support from people like you: individuals, families, businesses and foundations. INHF is a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit. We receive no direct government funding.

Ways to Give

Want to talk about possibilities? Contact Abby Hade Terpstra, director of philanthropy, at aterpstra@inhf.org or 515 288-1846, ext. 15.

Annual giving

An annual gift is the easiest way to support all INHF’s work statewide. Supporters who contribute $25 or more annually may choose to receive INHF publications and invitations to events. Plus, gifts made by new supporters are matched by The Principal Financial Group Foundation. Become a supporter

You can pledge your gift. New pledge gifts should contact Abby Hade Terpstra, director of philanthropy, at aterpstra@inhf.org or 515 288-1846, ext. 15 or update an existing pledge gift online.

Tribute gifts

Recognize someone special to you by making a gift in their memory or in their honor. In some instances, gifts totaling $1,000 or more may create an opportunity to remember or honor your loved one with permanent donor recognition. Make a gift now

Conservation legacy

Looking to do something special and lasting for Iowa? Many gifting methods are available — and our mission is broad enough to match most everyone’s vision for Iowa conservation. Learn more about conservation legacies.

Will bequests and estate gifts

A legacy gift will have a lasting impact. INHF’s experienced staff is honored to help you consider possibilities. Learn more about bequests and other estate giving or contact Abby Hade Terpstra at aterpstra@inhf.org or 515 288-1846, ext. 15 to talk about your ideas.

Gifts of land

We often help landowners consider the long-term future of their land. Whether you want to see your land permanently protected, create a conservation legacy with your family farm, or learn more about donating land to support conservation in Iowa, we can help you consider your options. This conversation is free, confidential and without obligation. Contact Abby Hade Terpstra at aterpstra@inhf.org or 515 288-1846. Learn more about permanent land protection options and tax benefits.

Gifts that provide lifetime income

Your major gift might be able to return income to you or a loved one for a period of years or over a lifetime. Many INHF friends have found Charitable Gift Annuities to be a satisfying way to give, and they may provide tax benefits as well as income. Learn more.

Stock/IRA gifts

It’s easier than you might think to do your charitable giving with stock or rollover gifts from personal IRA accounts. For more information, contact Erin Griffin, donor services coordinator, at egriffin@inhf.org or 515-288-1846, ext. 11. Erin can provide the most current instructions to help your gift transfer go smoothly.
