Breen Prairie Seed Harvest (Monticello)

INHFLogo
RSVP
You're invited to Breen Prairie for a fall prairie seed harvest!

Spend an autumn day learning about the land, exploring the prairie and hand harvesting native seed to distribute to other parts of the property to increase biodiversity. Stay after the harvest to hike around the prairie.

Seed harvesting can be done using your hands or clippers to collect seeds into buckets and bags. This activity is a favorite among our volunteers because of how peaceful and relaxing it is. It’s a great way to get to know the prairie more intimately and learn about this special ecosystem.

No experience necessary. Instruction and all equipment will be provided.

An RSVP is required.
