POSTPONED: North American Prairie Conference

North American Prairie Conference
MORE INFO
In light of the current COVID-19 situation, the 2020 North American Prairie Conference has been postponed until 2021. Dates for the 2021 conference, which will be held sometime in July, will be announced later this spring. All other details, including conference location, duration and symposia topics remain the same, and we are hopeful we will be able to re-confirm our keynotes, featured speakers and field trips once 2021 dates have been set. Registration will open in 2021. This was a difficult decision, but the planning committee is confident it is the right one and appreciates your understanding.

The North American Prairie Conference (NAPC) is America's oldest and most celebrated native grassland conference. It has been held since 1968, roughly every two years. The 2020 conference is the 26th event and the fifth NAPC conference to held in Iowa. Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation is co-hosting the event with Prairie Rivers of Iowa.

Expect to meet a variety of people deeply committed to prairie, including:

  • Researchers, professors and students who share the latest findings and questions about its plants, insects and ecosystem
  • Landowners and stewardship professionals who share their experience in managing and restoring prairie ecosystems: Individuals, non-profits, public agencies and businesses.
  • Thoughtful people who share how hopeful and inspiring prairie is: offering beauty, personal rejuvenation, even resilience in the face of climate change
  • People who are new to the topic of prairie – and those who have spent a lifetime devoted to learning and action about prairie.

All are welcome.
