PLEASE NOTE THE CHANGE TO PARKING
You're invited to Danamere Farms for a fall prairie seed harvest!
Together, we'll hand harvest native seed from Danamere Farm's rolling hill prairies. Seed collected will be used to diversify and expand the prairie. We'll end the evening with a bonfire and s'mores.
No experience necessary. Families welcome.
An RSVP is requested for this event.
About Danamere Farms
In a part of the state where wide open spaces are becoming increasingly scarce, at 117 acres, Rob and Susan Fleming’s family farm near Carlisle stands out. It’s home to several native landscapes including remnant and restored prairie, woodland and oak savanna. A public bike trail runs through the north side of the property, offering passersby views of the prairie and Des Moines skyline. Rob and Susan donated a conservation easement to Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation in 2017, ensuring the Danamere Farms will always be protected.
