Blank Park Zoo 2013 Conservation Series - Thursday, February 28

In preparation for its new spring exhibit, Jaama Kwa “Connection to” Africa, Des Moines’ Blank Park Zoo will be sponsoring a lecture series about the conservation of African animals.

Join zoo staff and animal lovers of all ages on Thursday, February 28 at 6 p.m. for light appetizers and social hour, followed by a presentation at 7 p.m. by John Lukas, president of the White Oak Conservation Center.

Lukas is extremely active in international conservation and  has worked on a variety of projects, including one in the rain forest of the Democratic Republic of Congo that helps protects the wild population of okapi in the area.

Ticket prices begin at $15 for members and can be purchased online or by calling (515) 974-2588.
