Grimes Farm Run

Join the Marshall County Conservation board on Saturday, July 12th, for the Grimes Farm Run 2014. This race has many distance and trail options for both runners and walkers alike. Not sure what to do with your kids while you run? They even have a race for them!

Check in begins at 7:30 a.m., and races start at 8:00 a.m.

5K: This race will take you along Linn Creek, through woodlands, across a wetland and into a prairie at the finish. The trail is mainly grass with some asphalt.

8K (only if trail conditions allow): The entire 5K race route with an extension that takes you along a deer trail.

1.6 Mile: This race will take you through a woodland, along Linn Creek and up Big Hill. You will finish over the covered bridge and cross the finish line at the picnic shelter.

Kids Races: Kids races start at 9:00 a.m. and go for 100 yards. Ribbons for all!

Teams: Register a group of three and you can still be considered as an individual as well!

$100 prize for first place and $50 prize for second place for males and females in the 5K and 8K.

INHF has worked with Grimes Farm and the Marshall County Conservation Board throughout the ’90s and beyond, and we have helped the family donate land in several different parcels over time, including the establishment of the resource center.

We are really proud that this has become the centerpiece for the Marshall County Conservation Board’s environmental education program. This is also a great destination along Linn Creek Trail and a great place to experience nature.
