Nature Walk: In Flight
By Kerri on March 10, 2014 in Blog
Waterfowl such as Canada geese are well adapted to withstand the worst of winter's cold. Flocks of birds can often be seen sitting on the ice or helping maintain a patch of open water in an otherwise frozen lake. Throughout the day small and large groups take off with send-off calls to travel to open fields to feed. Often they are accompanied by ducks such as mallards, and trumpeter or tundra swans.
What are your favorite birds to watch for during the winter?
