Nature Walk: Wild Prairie Light

By Taylor on August 5, 2013 in Blog

When a summer cold front pushes down from the north and meets a warm humid air mass, summer rainstorms often develop. They can be mild with moderate rain or contain high winds, hail and very heavy rain.  If the cloud cover in the west breaks before sunset, low angle light can create a spectacular scene in the eastern instead of on the western horizon.  Sunsets and sunrises are two of nature's most dramatic events that make for some unique sights.

When was the last time you saw a spectacular sunrise or sunset in Iowa?
