Nature Walk: Winter Sunrise
By Taylor on February 25, 2013 in Blog
New weather systems continually parade across the country. Thin translucent cirrus clouds often precede these new fronts. Composed of snow and ice crystals, they are high-level clouds above 20,000 feet. At sunrise or sunset vivid colors often result, the hues gradually changing as the sun rises or sets. As with most weather events each one is a unique event and a treasure to witness.
Sunrises and sunsets are beautiful regardless of the season, but even we’ll admit that we have a favorite place to watch the scarlet-hued sky. Where’s your favorite sunset watching spot?
