Does your daughter (or someone you know) love the outdoors? The Outdoor Journey for Girls (OJ) — a 3-day, 2-night workshop for girls ages 12 to 15 — teaches girls a variety of outdoor survival and safety skills, including:
- Canoeing and water safety
- Basic orienteering
- Fish and wildlife identification
- Archery
- Firearm safety and basic shooting
- Camping and outdoor survival
- And more!
All sessions are taught by experts, including DNR conservation officers, biologists, naturalists, and more. The cost is $125 per participant, which covers all meals, lodging, and equipment. Many local Pheasants Forever chapters will sponsor local youth. Contact them for more information on sponsorship.
OJ is sponsored by Iowa Women in Natural Resources, Iowa DNR and Pheasants Forever Chapters. Visit the Iowa DNR site for registration information.
