Pasque Flowers in Bloom

It’s springtime in Iowa! INHF Land Stewardship Assistant Ryan Schmidt snapped this photo of a Pasque flower, one of the of the first flowers to bloom in Iowa’s prairies each spring, while the land stewardship team was working with Conservation Corps Iowa at one of our prairie properties in Franklin County on Wednesday. These flowers are often found on drier, rocky hillsides and have petals that range in color from dark lavender to off-white.
