Snow wings

In winter, you have to look a little closer to find the beauty in our natural areas. Sometimes the smallest detail can prove magnificent. These pictures, given to us by David Marlow, were taken at our Gardner property in Boone County. As larger birds of prey or owls stalk their land-locked prey, they fly low to go in for a kill. Their wings create imprints on the fresh snow, leaving us an exciting find on a cold weather nature hike.
