Watershed Awareness with Project AWARE

What is a watershed? And why are they so important?
How much do you know about the health and safety of natural bodies of water in your community?
A watershed awareness event will be held at Drake University on Monday, November 5.
Learn more about Project AWARE – a program that turns volunteers into aquatic garbage collectors for a day – as well as the importance eco-education and preserving the health of our rivers.
Speakers include Iowa DNR research geologist Lynette Seigley, the Des Moines Water Works‘ Linda Kinman and Iowa artist David Williamson.
When: November 5 at 3:30 p.m.
Where: 101 Meredith Hall, Drake University
The event will be sponsored by students in Drake University’s Urban Environmental History course.
