You’re invited to join INHF and land ambassador volunteers for an afternoon of woodland restoration at the INHF Weimerskirk property, located right outside Bellevue. Volunteers will learn about the history and future management of the property, while assisting with valuable land stewardship work to restore and protect the natural habitat on the land. All equipment will be provided, no previous experience required. After the event, attendees are invited to join staff and volunteers at River Ridge Brewing for a beverage to celebrate the day.

About Weimerskirk
Encompassing over 450 acres of oak/hickory woodland, row crop, and pasture, the property is best known for its cold water trout streams. The property includes over 2 miles of cold water steam consisting of Mill Creek and Storybrook Hollow Creek. Both streams host populations of Brown Trout and Sculpin, a Species of Greatest Conservation Need. The property was bequeathed to INHF in 2017 from landowner Ed Weimerskirk who wanted to see the land and its resources protected while maintaining agricultural activities. In 2020, INHF and the DNR established an angling access easement for the public to access and enjoy Mill Creek.
Please bring:
- Sturdy shoes or hiking boots, long pants and layers
- Leather work gloves if you have them, some will be available
- Water bottle and insect repellant

Directions
From Bellevue, head west on Park St., take slight right onto Mill Creek Rd. and follow for 5.5 miles. Turn left onto 258th St. and follow for 1.5 miles. Look for INHF event signage for parking.
