Join INHF as we co-host the Midwest Beaver Summit! This year's summit will be a hybrid event, with an in-person conference at Oakton College in Des Plaines, Illinois, along with a virtual event. Registration is required for both the in-person and virtual options.
This year's theme, "Resilience Through Relationships," reflects the need to build relationships across a spectrum of ideologies and interests for beaver advocacy to work. The theme also relays an understanding of kincentric ecology, an Indigenous perspective that views both people and nature as part of the same ecological family that shares ancestry and origins.
Presentations will cover a variety of topics and themes, including agroforestry, beaver ecology and ecosystem services, how to write a beaver management plan for your local entity, Indigenous ecological knowledge. Breakout sessions will offer opportunities for attendees to have deeper conversations with other stakeholders about topics of interest to them, as well as to learn about topics in depth.
