Join Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, the Iowa Park Foundation and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to help kick off INHF's 2020 volunteer season and the Iowa State Parks Centennial!
We will be working at Big Creek State Park to help native prairie plants thrive by removing invasive species. This is one of several INHF events being held at Iowa State Parks across the state this Saturday.
We'll start at Big Creek State Park to help restore parts of the park. After the work day, we will celebrate with drinks at Fenders Brewing. Everyone is welcome and all volunteers (21+) will be given a ticket to redeem a buy one, get one half off at the brewery that day. Help us celebrate a great 2020 season and look ahead to a wonderful season! An RSVP is requested.
About Big Creek State Park
Located in central Iowa just 20 miles north of Des Moines, Big Creek State Park is known as a family-friendly setting for outdoor activities. big Creek Lake, which is home of the largest beach in the Iowa State Park system, is the central focus of the park, offering opportunities for boating, fishing, and swimming, as well as hiking, biking and picnic around and on its shores.

Meet on site at the Big Creek State Park parking lot at the corner of NW Big Creek Dr. and NW Hugg Dr. See map attached for details.
From the town square in Polk City, head northwest on W Broadway St. out of town (about 2 miles) until you reach NW Big Creek Dr. Turn right and cross the dam until NW Hugg Dr. Turn left into the parking lot. There will be white INHF event signs.
