Join Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, Bur Oak Land Trust, Four Mounds Foundation, The Nature Conservancy in Iowa and Whiterock Conservancy for a fall prairie seed harvest!
This annual event brings together supporters, volunteers and staff from land trusts across Iowa. Learn about Snyder Heritage Farm, explore the prairie and help gather native seed to support its ongoing restoration. Stay after the harvest to hike around the prairie.
All are invited to come get away, learn and meet others. No experience necessary. Families welcome. Rain date: Sunday, Sept. 23.

About Snyder Heritage Farm
For nearly 30 years, Snyder Heritage Farm has been slowly transitioning from a traditional farm to a beautiful blend of prairie, oak savanna, woodland and wetland ecosystems. It is now a 154-acre natural area just north of the Des Moines metro. Snyder Heritage Farm is owned and managed by Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation.
Please bring/wear:
- Sturdy shoes or hiking boots
- Long pants
- Work gloves – if you have them
- Hat, sun protection and water bottle
- Field guides, binoculars and your camera - if you like

- You will be asked to sign a liability waiver
