Stops will include newly restored, well-established and mature easement sites, as well as the location of two agricultural drainage well closures completed as part of the wetland project at Big Wall Lake. The tour will conclude by noon. Light refreshments will be provided before the tour. Rain location: Dows Welcome Center, 122 E. Ellsworth St., Dows, IA 50071

25 YEARS OF EASEMENTS

Since 1993, more than 1,500 Iowa landowners have enrolled nearly 190,000 wetland acres into USDA-funded easements. NRCS offers easement programs to landowners who want to maintain or enhance their land in a way beneficial to agriculture and/or the environment. All NRCS easement programs are voluntary.
