Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation friends will be hand-harvesting native prairie seed on a restored prairie just north of Iowa City. Seed collected will be stored, dried and eventually sown to expand and improve the prairie. The landowners will speak about their philosophy of land protection and how they have partnered with INHF to create a shared, inspired vision for this special place. Rain date: Wednesday, September 26.
An RSVP is required for this event.

About Kahler Prairie
Kahler Prairie is a diverse 110-acre outdoor oasis just outside of Iowa City. It includes wetland, woodland and oak savanna habitats, and is not normally open to the public. It was donated to INHF with a reserved life estate (RLE) in 2011 by Karl and Elizabeth Kahler. The RLE allows the couple to enjoy continued use and income from the property while ensuring its permanent protection.
