Grab your hiking stick and head to Spring Hill to explore the magic of the tallgrass prairie. Beloved Iowa author, nature photographer and conservationist Carl Kurtz will lead a guided hike of this stunning 80-acre prairie property near Saint Anthony, Ia. Spring Hill is rich in diverse native prairie plants and wildlife.

Come early for bird calls, morning blooms and conversation, bring along a sack lunch and stay after for a picnic on the prairie. Family friendly, kids welcome. No experience necessary. An RSVP is appreciated, but not required.

About Spring Hill

Spring Hill encompasses 80 acres of remnant and high quality reconstructed prairie, a meandering creek and natural wetlands. The property's prairies have been restored by Kurtz, a pioneer in the Iowa prairie seed business and a leader in the movement to plant native prairie plants across Iowa. Kurtz and his wife, Linda, donated most of the land value to INHF in 2014. Spring Hill is now owned by INHF and managed in partnership with Kurtz.
